Sorry for the lack of blogging lately! After my State of La Brisa Photography post, I received a bunch of feedback (both positive and negative – which I assumed would happen) and wanted to follow up with a few folks to elaborate and expound on my ideas. I gotta admit, the feedback really challenged me to think about my goals and I through the questions/debates/conversations I have become more and more dedicated in my cause! So thank you to everyone who has supported/challenged/ridiculed me about my goals because you have given me the impetus to accomplish them!
Anyways, my birthday celebration this year was nothing like last year’s extravaganza which you can see for yourself here: Best Birthday Ever! Instead, it was perfect for being in New York. I am a huge fan of Top Chef and so I have always wanted to go to one of Tom Colicchio’s restaurants. Brisa and I ended up going to Colicchio & Sons (formerly Craftsteak) and had a marvelous time! We took a few photos at dinner with Brisa’s point and shoot 🙂
Here I am cheesing it up with the menu. BTW, you can read my full review of the restaurant on Yelp: www.labrisaphoto.yelp.com
We started with a Sea Urchin & Crab Fondue and then I ordered the Roasted Sirloin with Salsify, Bacon and Black Garlic

Brisa ordered the Pancetta-Wrapped Monkfish with Braised Red Cabbage and Black Truffle Vinaigrette

Then Brisa surprised me with a little birthday dessert platter 🙂

Finally, the main event of the evening was to see Jersey Boys on Broadway! I’ve heard amazing things about this musical and Brisa and I have wanted to see it for a while so thanks to the awesome present from my sisters and brothers in law, we were finally able to go! And it was absolutely amazing! I am incredibly enamored with the unbelievable talent of musical performers and Jersey Boys was possibly one of the best musicals I have ever seen! We decided that we really need to take advantage of living here so next on our list to see are Billy Elliot, In the Heights and Wicked 🙂

And yes, I failed to take a picture of the both of us (sad face), but for the next occasion, I definitely will do better!
