Jade and Emily’s Sioux Falls wedding was another first for me. The first time I’ve photographed a South Dakota wedding. And the first time I’ve photographed the marriage of a beauty queen and a quarterback; hence their hashtag, #BeautyAndTheBudger!
On an uncharacteristically humid Fall day, the forecast wasn’t promising. Powerful storms were predicted to dampen all of Sioux Falls and Flandreau. Amazingly, the only time the crazy storms landed was during Jade and Brett’s indoor ceremony. As if God was cleansing everyone’s hearts and preparing Jade and Brett for their newfound life together as one body.
Aside from marrying each other, the two things Jade and Brett were most excited about on their wedding day was their first look and partying with their family and friends. Their first look was highly anticipated and incredibly sweet. Prior to seeing him, Jade mentioned to me how she was so excited for her veil because Brett has seen her so many times in a beautiful white dress and she wanted to make today more memorable for him. Well, she found a bargain deal for the most stunning cathedral veil and it was perfect. As I spent more time with Jade and Brett, I realized how magnetic their personalities are. You just want to be around them and feed off their awesomeness. This was most evident during their reception as they bounced from the dance floor to the bar to mingling with friends. They were everywhere and made all of their guests feel valued and cherished!
One of my goals is to photograph a wedding in all 50 states. My amazing friend, Chris, of Mustang Marketing, met Jade at a marketing conference and somehow convinced her that she had to hire me for her wedding. A huge thanks to Chris for helping me with my goal and for being my biggest La Brisa Brand Ambassador ever!
