I’m happy to share images from my latest La Brisa Aspiring Photographer Workshop (APW) of a Sentinel Peak engagement session in Tucson, AZ!
Andrea and Matt modeled for us on Andrea’s birthday! What a super fun way to celebrate your birthday, right? These two are absolutely awesome together! Their interactions are so genuine and their relationship is pure. Matt adores Andrea. I mean, he subjected himself to two hours of photos in front of 14 photographers just to please his wife. The best part of photographing Andrea and Matt is how vibrant and energetic they are together. Every action, move and expression they make are done with extra oomph. I’m quite certain that’s how they are with everything they do in life! Thanks again for modeling for us. You two were awesomely perfect!
The photographers and I shot all around the Sentinel Peak Base Parking lot area. Although it was much warmer than I hoped, everyone survived the heat and we were able to create beautiful photos! I showed how I typically photograph one of my Attraction Sessions. Throughout the APW, the photographers had the opportunity to pose/shoot the couple, listen to how I interact/pose the couple and ask questions of why I do what I do. Afterwards, we headed over to Seis Kitchen for delicious Mexican food, horchata and to critique each other’s photos!
True confession: at every APW, I learn something new. This time, I learned that anticipating where the light will be allows you to shoot way more efficiently as opposed to starting/stopping multiple times!

I absolutely love teaching. My background is in education and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to share my photography experience with photographers of all skill levels. The reason I started hosting free Aspiring Photographer Workshops back in 2008 was to give back to all the photographers who helped me get started as well as to help grow the photography community.
