Last night, Brisa and my amazing friend, Jocelyn, lost her beloved Tre. Tre was a rescue from the Caribbean where Jocelyn went to school. She was in for a bit of a shock when Jocelyn moved her to the cold of Manhattan, KS, but as long as you kept her warm, fed and loved, Tre was the happiest dog ever. Of all her characteristics, Tre’s best quality was her ability to manipulate you to do whatever she wanted. She would droop her ears down, shake her stub of a tail and raise her paw up and down as quickly as possible and you immediately had to rub her belly or do whatever she wanted otherwise you’d feel like the worst person in the world.

Tre was one of my best models when I started getting into photography. Most of these images of her are from the first 6 months of me owning a DSLR. She was a rockstar and she knew it.

I was literally heartbroken when I heard the news of her passing last night. I am tearing up as I write this. Tre was incredibly unique and so well loved especially by the Hsieh kids; Paz, Figgins and Pork Bun. Tre, you are going to love doggy heaven. You can have all the belly rubs, delicious human food, comfy doggy beds that your heart desires. Most awesomely though, you will get to be reunited with your brother Maxie and your buddy Willy. Thank you for taking such great care of your mom all these years. You will be forever loved and always in our hearts.
